Triple Offset Butterfly Valve

The triple offset butterfly valve boasts three unique offsets, with the third achieved by altering the sealing component's geometry. Specifically, the seat is precision-machined into an offset conical profile, forming a right-angled cone.

This innovative third offset minimizes rubbing and wear between the seat and seal ring during operation, ensuring the seal ring disengages from the valve seat seamlessly upon opening. Contact is only established at the final point of closure, where torque is applied to create a bi-directional, bubble-tight seal. This design earns triple offset butterfly valves the moniker "torque seated."

The metal-to-metal construction grants the valve resilience in high-temperature and high-pressure environments, outlasting double offset butterfly valves. However, achieving the precise oblique cone shape necessitates specialized machining, grinding, and assembly, driving up its cost compared to double offset models.

For applications involving high corrosion, abrasion, pressure, or temperature, the triple eccentric butterfly valve stands as a valuable option. It is frequently deployed in emergency safety operations, high-cycling services for superheated steam, high-pressure systems, or high-temperature gases and oils.
