Forged Globe Valve

ACEV Flow Control stands as a trailblazer in the globe valve market, catering to your need for forged globe valves with unparalleled expertise.
Our extensive portfolio boasts a versatile selection of Small Bore Forged Steel Globe Valves, encompassing T-pattern, Y-pattern, cryogenic, and bellows-sealed variations. Crafted from an array of materials, including Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Duplex Steel, Alloy 20, and other exotic grades, these valves cater to diverse customer specifications and end connections. ACEV's manufacturing prowess spans sizes from 1/4” to 2”, and ANSI pressure classes ranging from 150# to 4500#.
As a rule, globe valves conforming to ASME classes up to 1500LB feature bolted body-bonnet joints for robust construction. For higher pressure ratings, we offer pressure seal bonnets to ensure safety and reliability.
Each component of ACEV's compact globe valve design, particularly those bearing pressure, is meticulously forged (both body and bonnet). This makes them ideally suited for installations in refineries, chemical plants, petrochemical facilities, oil industry processes, and other environments where corrosion, erosion, or precise volumetric flow control is paramount.
The ACEV Forged Steel Globe Valve excels in process industries, effectively isolating steam, gases, and liquids, including air, gas, oil, steam, and water. Featuring a handwheel-operated manual design with a rising stem, this valve boasts a forged steel body, bonnet, plug-type disc, and seat.
With a standard port offering low flow resistance and a full port option available upon request, the valve meets various flow needs. Both plug-type and needle-type discs are available to suit specific requirements.
In accordance with API 624 and ISO 15848-1 standards, the valve ensures low emission leakage to the atmosphere. The T-body design is standard, while the Y-body model offers reduced flow turbulence and an increased flow rate (Cv).

Forged Globe Valve

ACEV's metal-seated, forged steel globe valves, with welded, screwed, and flanged ends, embody the outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) design, featuring a rising stem construction ranging from 1/4" (DN10) to 4" (DN100). These valves deliver exceptional performance and reliability across a broad spectrum of applications, from critical to non-critical, with pressure ratings spanning 150LB to 4500LB in regular port configurations.
ACEV offers forged globe valves in various designs: bolted bonnet (BB), pressure seal bonnet (PSB), and welded bonnet (WB), suitable for high pressure & temperature and cryogenic services. They are available with threaded ends (BSP/NPT), socket welded ends (SW), butt welded ends (BW), and weld neck ends, catering to diverse installation needs.
Crafted with a robust forged body and bolted bonnet assembly, these valves utilize flexible graphite packing for all applications. They come standard in Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel, with alloy options available upon request. The globe valve stem boasts a solid, one-piece construction, while the yoke bush ensures accurate stem alignment through its long thread engagement.

Plug Type Forged Globe
Valve
The plug type valve, ubiquitous in global valve applications, excels in low pressure and temperature environments. These plugs regulate flow through sliding or screwing mechanisms attached to the stem. They come in two varieties: balance and unbalance.
Unbalance plugs are solid and suited for smaller valves with minimal pressure drops. Their simple design offers cost-effectiveness and a single leak path at the seat. However, their size is constrained, as larger unbalance plugs require impractical forces to seat and maintain flow.
Balance plugs, featuring holes throughout, facilitate easier shut-off by mitigating static forces. While this design adds a second leak path between the plug and cage, it generally increases cost.
The Z-type/Tee pattern stands as the most common and straightforward design, featuring a Z-shaped partition within the globular body that houses the seat. Its horizontal seating arrangement allows the disc and stem to move perpendicular to the pipe axis, resulting in significant pressure loss. The seat is easily accessible via the bonnet and attaches to a large opening at the valve body's top, ensuring uninterrupted valve operation during pressure drops and throttling requirements.

Needle Type Globe Valve

Needle-type globe valves offer proportional opening in response to needle movement, facilitating precise metering and fine-tuned flow control in both standard T-pattern and specialized angle configurations, thereby eliminating the need for extra elbows in various system layouts.
These valves excel in throttling performance among plug and composite types, featuring a diverse range of long, tapered discs suitable for various flow conditions.
Compliant with API 602 and ASME B16.34 standards, these valves boast a compact yet robust design suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature applications. They are available with either bolted or welded bonnets.
Meeting API 624 and ISO 15848-1 fugitive emissions standards, the valves ensure effective sealing through pre-compressed packing rings in the chamber, distributing stress evenly across all rings.
For welded bonnet valves, the bonnet is threaded and torqued to an engineered value, and the body-bonnet joint is strength-welded, providing dual protection against leakage. Optionally, a CoCr alloy hardfaced disc minimizes friction and extends service life.
The body-guided disc design eliminates side thrust, prolonging the life of the disc, seat, and body. Precise application of low-emission injectable packing is facilitated through pre-positioned field injection ports in the bonnet (bolted bonnet globe NPS 1/4–2 (DN 8–50) Class 150–1500).
Disc designs include stop, stop check, needle, and flow control, with optional features such as double packing, leak-off connection, and live-loading available.

Angle Globe Valve

The angle type globe valve represents an innovative adaptation of the conventional globe valve, featuring ends angled at 90 degrees to redirect flow seamlessly without the need for auxiliary tools like elbows or additional welding connectors. The valve's disc rises against the downward flow direction, making it ideal for regulating flow rates and enduring the impact of slugging.
ACEV's angle globe valves incorporate a streamlined curved bore for efficient flow and reduced CV values, making them particularly suited for applications involving pulsating flow. Their resilience to the slugging effect of such flows sets them apart. To prevent medium accumulation and crystallization, these valves can be equipped with packing flushing and heating steam jackets.
Our angle globe valves come in both forged and cast versions, offering a diverse range of exotic materials and swift delivery options.

Y Type Globe Valve

Y-pattern globe valves serve as a viable alternative to standard globe valves, which are prone to high pressure drops. Specifically, Y-body valves excel in high-pressure environments where monitoring pressure drops is crucial. The Y-type design minimizes flow resistance by orienting the seat and stem at approximately 45 degrees to the pipe axis, thereby providing a straighter flow path at full opening and reducing flow resistance to a minimum. These valves are particularly useful for throttling during seasonal or startup operations.
ACEV's Y-pattern globe valves offer a distinct advantage over vertical globe valves by providing a lower pressure drop. They are engineered for maximum flow capacity and minimal leakage in high-pressure, high-temperature applications. Available as forged or cast valves with a range of exotic materials, they deliver exceptional performance with short delivery times.
