Piston Check Valve

ACEV Flow Control crafts an exceptional range of check valves, adhering strictly to API, ASME, and ANSI standards during manufacturing and testing.
Our Piston Check Valves, also known as Lift Check Valves, operate silently while effectively mitigating backflow. Their innovative "flapperless" design ensures gentle interaction with the seat as the piston moves with fluid flow variations.
Forged steel check valves, including Piston Check Valves, are vital for preventing reverse flow in pipelines. As fluid pressure builds, the valve opens, and any flow reversal triggers its closure. In Piston Check Valves, a body-guided disc glides within the bore, ensuring precise seat and disc alignment during closure. Installed with flow beneath the disc, inlet pressure and flow force the disc to "lift," facilitating fluid passage. If flow reverses, the disc swiftly descends, assisted by its weight, to prevent fluid from returning. However, caution is advised when using these valves in dirty media, as debris may cause the disc to stick within the bore.
The piston, or lift, check valve utilizes a piston as its valve disc to regulate fluid flow. Prior to exploring its functionality, it is essential to examine its components through a typical diagram.
ACEV's piston check valves are compact forged steel valves suitable for both horizontal and vertical lines. Notably, the pressure seal piston check valve boasts a robust yet compact design, ideal for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.

Lift Check Valve

ACEV lift check valves employ a piston or ball mechanism to elevate from the seat, permitting fluid flow in one direction while effectively blocking backflow in the opposite direction.
In these valves, fluid enters beneath the valve seat, and its pressure lifts the piston or ball, enabling flow. As the flow diminishes, decelerates, reverses, or halts, gravitational force returns the piston or ball to its seated position. This design is particularly suited for systems characterized by high flow rates and velocities.
The standard construction of ACEV lift check valves features bolted or welded bonnet connections for the body-bonnet assembly, with a pressure seal bonnet option for high-pressure applications. Additionally, all pressure-containing components adhere to a standard fully die-forged structure with an integral seat design; a screwed-in seat type is also available as an alternative.

Pressure Seal Piston Check

ACEV Pressure Seal Lift Check Valves are utilized to prevent backflow of high-pressure inlet or upstream fluid in power and refining applications, ensuring flow continues toward the outlet or downstream side. These valves are ideal for steam and water applications featuring high flow velocities.
Specifically, the pressure seal piston type check valve (lift check) excels in power plant environments involving fossil fuels, coal, gases, nuclear and thermal power, boilers, steam stations, and more. They are typically installed downstream of pumps to prevent backflow.
ACEV Pressure Seal Lift Check Valves are designed to harness pipeline fluid pressure, utilizing a pre-loaded graphite or metal gasket strategically positioned between the body and bonnet to enhance sealing performance.
